Job description

Senior Marketing Strategist /Planner

East Hendred

You are…

Someone who has a burning desire to understand how things work. Did you used to take apart perfectly functioning objects when you were a child just to understand their workings? Maybe you just have a desire to know more about things than anyone else. If the answer is yes, then you almost certainly still possess that inquisitive nature, and you may well be interested in what our planning team here at TMP do every day.

We work with some of the most well-known tech companies in the world, as well as some of the most influential companies that you will never have heard of, and we partner with them to make inherently complex propositions more digestible to the average layperson in the B2B space. This involves researching and dissecting some of the most life-changing, world-shifting, exciting tech offerings that are molding the way our world works.

You will be someone who is humble enough to know that you don’t know it all, and also strong enough to ask when you don’t know about something. You will spend your time working with bright and inquisitive people, and you will be someone who is collaborative and supportive of your colleagues, and fully involved with the overall agency goal which is to produce the very best in B2B Marketing.

Ideally, you will have held a position as a Planner / Strategist within an agency environment, however, if you have been involved with research Qual or Quant or you just have a real interest in the world of B2B tech and how it is marketed then this role may well be for you. If you would like to know more about this role then please get in touch.

As a Planner/Strategist, you will have experience in the following

  • You can work with senior marketing clients to help shape their marketing strategy, plans or objectives
  • As part of this you’re happy facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops and come across with authority.
  • You understand the fundamentals of research and insight in B2B and can work with third party and internal teams to frame the requirements and then analyse the outputs.
  • You can deliver consultancy projects for Account Based Marketing, proposition refinement and partner engagement. Or you will be able to quickly once we get you up to speed with our methods…
  • Ideally you can do that higher level consultative work but you also enjoy rolling your sleeves up to get campaigns from strategy into delivery. This bit is important – we need good internal communicators and ‘enthusers’!
  • This means working with an account team and our in-house centres of excellence (Creative, Content and Digital, Data & Analytics and Demand Generation)
  • As a senior member of the team (and the agency overall) you should be a good mentor and we would welcome your inputs into our own practices, propositions and talent development.

What can we offer you?

We firmly believe that The Marketing Practice (TMP) is the best place for B2B marketers. We are one of the fastest-growing and most-awarded B2B marketing agencies in the world, working with exciting companies like Microsoft, Salesforce and O2 on cutting-edge global programmes from our three international offices. And because of that growth and scale, there are heaps of opportunities for ambitious, committed marketers to succeed and grow at TMP – whether that means taking the next step on your career ladder, working with experts across marketing disciplines to develop new skills, or on-the-job learning with our bespoke TMP Academy training programme.

That’s not just empty promises: all but one of our board members worked their way up through the company, including three who started as graduates. Today, we’re bringing on new clients and expanding our capabilities in all departments – that means we need people like you to come and join the TMP family. So if you’re looking to progress your career, do your best work, develop new skills, and have fun working with like-minded, talented people every day, we would love to hear from you.
