The role

The Creative Team at The Marketing Practice inc. is growing and the studio is a very busy and dynamic place. We’re looking for our first Senior Designer to join the team and work in partnership with our Content Lead/Senior Copywriter.

 

In essence, this is a dynamic and flexible role for someone with ambition and drive. You will thrive in a ‘start-up’ environment, where you’ll be asked to contribute at all stages of the brief from concept to production from time to time. Your skillset will be broad, and more than anything you’ll be open to learning new skills and developing your existing ones. You’re a self-starter. As a Senior Designer your primary responsibility will be to support the generation of strong visual and graphical solutions to our clients’ marketing challenges. You will grasp every opportunity to demonstrate your creative flair and craft. You will act as brand champion for our clients, ensuring brand compliance and consistency across all deliverables. You will interrogate the briefs assigned to you, adding value and maintaining the creative integrity of the concept as it is applied across varied materials and platforms. Our busy creative department requires the ability to cope under pressure, often having to think on your feet, and deliver to tight deadlines which can, at times require working outside of normal office hours. You will be proficient in using the Adobe Creative Suite and will be comfortable taking projects through production to completion when necessary.

  • Excellent communication with all stakeholders involved in your brief
  • Ongoing support and education of other departments about the creative process
  • Providing clear direction and feedback for freelance designers and production artists
  • Seeking and managing feedback from our Creative Director (based abroad) when needed

 

Competencies

  • Adobe Creative Suite; InDesign (essential), Photoshop (essential), Illustrator (essential)
  • PowerPoint skills (essential), MS Word (essential), Excel 
  • Strong conceptual skills plus involvement with business messaging
  • Strong drawing/scamping skills
  • Ability to articulate ideas with confidence and clarity
  • Experience of working with copywriters and production artists throughout projects
  • The technical ability to take projects through production to completion
  • Experience of brand guardianship and implementation
  • Previous exposure to budgeting and time estimation across projects is advantageous
  • Experience of delivering to tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Previous experience in a B2B technology environment would be advantageous

Experience
