Role scope/purpose

The Planning/Insights Executive is an entry level role within our Strategy team.


The Strategy team is responsible for developing the marketing campaign insight used to fuel the creative process and drive sales.


The Planning/Insights role exists to help Strategists uncover key insights by conducting core research tasks as well as providing paths towards the role of either Planner or Insights Manager through skillsets gained.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct research to help Planners and Strategists uncover Insights to develop Marketing Campaigns (60%)
    • Work closely with Planners, Strategist and Research Managers to conduct desktop research into Key Accounts and Profiles to support Account Based Marketing campaigns
    • Support Insights Manager in the creation of industry and key topic overviews
  • Shadowing Insights Manager, Planner and Strategists to learn and develop from (30%)
    • Work closely with a Planner/Strategist on a smaller account through attending internal project meetings and delivering tasks identified by Planner e.g. competitor comparisons, content audits, personas
    • Work closely with a Strategist/Senior Strategist on a large account through attending internal project meetings and delivering tasks identified by Strategist/Senior Strategists e.g. competitor comparisons, content audits, personas, high-level messaging and nurture flows, 3rd party research and media publication research.
  • Manage Strategy team’s key administration (10%)
    • Ensuring Strategy team’s weekly schedule is up to date through weekly reminders and check-ins
    • Arrange and coordinate the Strategy Monthly Team meetings, including working with the Head of Planning on the agenda
    • Own the planning and coordination for the Strategy quarterly team social events.

Whilst this is an entry-level role, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following traits :-

  • Ability to digest a lot of information and condense key thoughts.

Knowledge on the TMP way will be acquired in the first year. To support this, further reading will be factored in across the year to include ‘The Practical Pocket Guide to Account Planning’ by Chris Kocek and ‘Start with the Why’ by Simon Sinek.

Experience

  • No full-time work experience is required for this role.
  • However, clear examples of demonstrating experience in the traits identified in ‘Knowledge, Skills and Abilities’ will be asked upon interview.
